The charity, Sarinha, is planning, together with the local workers, to expand its activities. Along with several of the pupil’s parents, and other local people, Sarinha is hoping to develop a sort of mini-economy Besides the food programme, Sarinha will be involved in providing water, developing agricultural projects and setting up training programmes. Because of all this, there will be a need, for instance, for two kitchens where around 600 meals can be prepared, and also two large, stone storage sheds where food will keep well for long periods. "Two" because the school activities are based in two different locations, so that no pupil has to walk for more than an hour and a quarter to get there. Through carrying out these activities (amongst others) together with the local people, we believe it will not only be a means of providing food but also of helping the population to learn to be self-sufficient. By investing in their situation we want to give them the faith to believe that they can achieve much more than they often think. Through doing the work with them we will not only be building a school, or borehole, or whatever. We will be building for the future of Mozambique! You can read more about these projects on the various pages of this website. |
Where is the water with which to fill the water tank?

By the sort of trees that grow in certain areas you can tell if there is water under the ground! In Thowe it took no time at all to decide where to put the borehole: by the group of trees! And there was the water! The children are full of expectancy, and the parents are working hard on it! What a change in the village...
