Sarinha Foundation

The mission statement of the Sarinha Foundation is:

The practical and spiritual support of the children in Mozambique, who go unnoticed by others, in co-operation with (international) organizations already there, and local organizations such as schools, churches and governments.

To achieve this goal, we created two departments. Sarinha Food takes a practical approach to work on the well being of the children in Mozambique through the school feeding program and agriculture projects in a district in Mozambique. Sarinha Care is a spiritual approach through which we aim to reach the children in Mozambique with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Since four years Sarinha has been blessed with the possibility to make use of a government building. Initially it was used as prayer centre, but this was quickly supplemented by seminars, conferences and currently a part-time Bible school as well. The possibility to use the building for the long term, is very unsure.

Through the experience of praying with local Mozambicans it became clear that the local christians have little knowledge of the Bible. Because Sarinha beliefs that intercessory prayer is essential in releasing the children of Mozambique from the bondage of darkness, we plan to extend the education by means of a Bible school.

Besides the importance of spiritual growth of a Christian, it is also important for young Mozambicans to have a chance to learn a profession. For a lot of young people who are going to school on the countryside, such as Thoe, there are not many possibilities. Therefore, Sarinha considers to combine a  Bible school and education centre to learn a profession. In this Sarinha likes to join other organizations with skills in this area, such as Young Africa.

Vision Sarinha Centre

It is our vision to The Sarinha Centre will provide in the opportunity to train people in the Word of God and to learn a profession. At the same time the Sarinha Centre can serve for short trainings, courses, conferences and seminars. At the grounds of the Sarinha Centre there will be possibilities to have retreats and conferences by other organizations. Besides this, the prayer centre will get a place within the new Sarinha Centre.

As a preparation, we already have preliminary meetings with an architect on the design of this centre.

The mission of the Sarinha Centre is:

To train and educate young Christians from Sofala Provence so they can serve their people through different ministries at different places within Mozambique, in honor of the heavenly Father.
