Sarinha Foundation

In October 2007 a three year contract was signed with the Ademimo organization, concerning the use of a part of a large building for Sarinha Care’s prayer work.

The building itself belongs to the government and is used for war victims. They not only live there but also receive schooling and help there, all organized by Ademimo. But the building is too big for them and the trustee had a real desire that the rest be used for Christian work.

Our part of the building consists of a large hall and a veranda with two small rooms on it. The hall is very suitable for study, and also for prayer or worship evenings. We want to set up one of the small rooms as a prayer room for one or two people. The other room will be an office for Chico.

Our goal for this Centre is two-fold:

• We want to aim for having 24 hour a day prayer for Mozambique.
• We want, as Sarinha, to support Christians from various churches in the Sofala province, by offering training prayer and by motivating them to pray for the land through, for instance,  the organization of Prayer Trips and by the formation of a Prayer Army for Mozambique.
  

Prayer for Mozambique is already taking place, through the groups who regularly meet in the Prayer Centre.

The training will take various forms. We will hold study evenings and conferences in the Prayer Centre, firstly for those who have joined the Sarinha prayer group (they attend various churches) but also by means of open conferences. We will also travel into the province with groups in order to give training in the districts. This will generally be done in combination with a prayer trip.

One example of this is Caia. In January 2008 the intercessory team went to Caia, partly because of the flooding of the Zambezi on which Caia lies. In April a larger team will return there, not only to pray but also to give training about prayer. At the same time a large evangelistic campaign will be held with musical events, evangelistic meetings and opportunities for intercession. For this Sarinha will be working together with other churches and organizations.

Chico is the leader of the prayer centre and of the activities organized from there.
